For well over a decade, Jeffrey Fazio and Dina Micheletti have been the driving force behind major litigation that produced leading stories on national television and headlines in newspapers, literally around the world. More important, their work produces extraordinary results.
In one case alone, Mr. Fazio and Ms. Micheletti were principally responsible for a series of legal events that rarely, if ever, happen in civil litigation: For the first time in U.S history, a court ordered the recall of millions of dangerously defective motor vehicles; for the first time in California history, a judge found that class members are entitled to minimum of $1,000 each for having their rights violated under the State's Consumers Legal Remedies Act; and for the first time in nearly a decade, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a special investigation and found that an automaker had fraudulently concealed evidence during the course of earlier defect investigations -- just as Mr. Fazio and Ms. Micheletti's clients had alleged in the lawsuit that triggered the later inquiry -- which caused the agency to change the way it conducted its defect investigations from then on.
Over the years, Mr. Fazio and Ms. Micheletti have litigated cases in a broad range of substantive legal areas. After years of success while working for other firms, they decided to form a law firm of their own. Fazio | Micheletti LLP was established in October 2003, which continues to focus on class actions and other forms of complex litigation as well as lemon-law litigation and individual cases involving unfair competition, consumer fraud, and business torts.
